Recover a MELEK account

Recovery for MELEK accounts runs through MELEK-Signer and is optional. This page never asks for your password or keys — if you enter them anywhere, do it only on the MELEK-Signer sign-in page.

1 · I still have my password or owner key

You are not locked out. Sign in with MELEK to confirm the password still controls the account. If it works, change your password from your wallet while signed in, and keep the new one safe.

2 · My account was stolen (someone changed the owner key)

The chain allows recovery only if the owner key was changed within the last 30 days, and only by the account's recovery partner (its on-chain recovery_account). You must still prove a password or owner key that was valid during those 30 days.

If MELEK-Signer holds your recovery partner, the signer-assisted path applies.
If it does not, MELEK-Signer cannot act for you — contact your recovery partner directly.
After 30 days, or with no recovery partner, the chain cannot reverse it.

3 · I lost my password

A MELEK password is the key; the chain has no password reset. It can be reset only if MELEK-Signer holds that account's keys (accounts created through MELEK-Signer). Otherwise it is not recoverable by anyone — not us, not the witnesses.
